Connie "Bee's" Quilts

CONNIE "BEE"......real name Connie Broy, a self taught quilter, has been creating quilts for over 15 years. In the last 10 years she has taught various classes and workshops around the state of Virginia. Most of her classes are taught at the Viking Gallery inside the JoAnn’s store in Winchester, VA. In 1994 Connie created the quilting template called --"SPIN-RULER"-- and received her patent in 1995 from the U. S. Patent Office. This novelty ruler lets you be the creative designer and have fun. You can see more about this novelty innovative ruler in the Spin-Ruler Hive. Many of Connie's quilts have been featured in "Traditional Quilter" magazine over the years from 1995-1999. The 1995 issue of this magazine featured the "Chain Links" quilt on the cover. |
The Spin-Ruler was featured in the spring 1997 issue of "America Quilter Society" magazine with the article written by Ann Kroll and Jennie Peck. Star Wars" quilt was featured in the Miniature Quilt" magazine, Dec. 2000 issue. Her "Indian Radiance" quilt is currently in the 2002 Quilt Art Engagement Calendar. Connie has entered many quilt shows over the years and has won numerous ribbons for her efforts. She won an honorable mention for her quilt "Windows of My Mine" in the Jinny Beyers contest a few years ago. Connie is a native of Idaho and now resides in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with her husband, Lewis, of 25+ years. Oh, yes, must not forget the family pet, “Sir” Maxwell, who thinks every quilt is his. |
Quilting is a fun and creative way to work through sad times as well as happy times and make something that will last for a long, long time.
